About

T.J. Edmond is a songwriter, musician, bandleader and audio engineer living in Athens, Georgia with his wife, Mary.

With his band, The Beggars’ Guild, he has released two records which have received radio airplay and praise for their honest, catchy and well crafted songs. He has performed– both on the stage and behind the sound board– in venues from coffee shops and dive bars to theaters and large festivals. Having also worked as a studio engineer for an award-winning producer, T.J. has gained extensive insight into the processes of songwriting, recording and performing, as well as the rewards and challenges of the life of an artist.

T.J. began writing and performing as The Beggars’ Guild in 2005 and, shortly thereafter, filled out the band with veteran musicians Jon Chalden, Gregg Shapiro and Will McNeill. The band quickly earned a following throughout the southeast for their exceptional songs and high energy live shows, performing with artists such as Marshall Tucker, Kevn Kinney, Col. Bruce Hampton and The Zac Brown Band. In 2007 they performed at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and have received radio play in several markets including Atlanta and New York City.

After several personnel changes, in 2009 the band was renamed “T.J. Edmond & The Beggars’ Guild”, to reflect the occasionally shifting lineup and to clarify the association with T.J. Edmond’s solo performances.
