Take heart, there's still some of us out there that go see live music quite a bit. Lately my Wife & I haven't been to see much due to us just buying a house. But normally we go see a band at least every other week, if not more than that.

My way of discovering new bands is mainly by experiencing them as openers for bands that I like. I found Angie Aparo, Zac Brown Band, Ben Harper and several others that way. Actually saw you open for Sam Thacker a few months back & you blew me away. Looking forward to seeing you in a few days at Downtown Kitchen.

you're right, i never go out expecting to find new music. i'm either supporting friends or going to someone whose music i already know. there's no real in-between. i was struck by this when i went to see your brother play last week and actually found new music. i loved the opening band. it blew me away that i had gone out and found someone i liked and hadn't heard before. i honestly can't remember the last time . . . so why do you do it? Here's link to the band's website - check out their story i found it interesting and somewhat relevant to the post - http://thebuildersandthebutchers.com/biography/.
